A visual exercise and a work in practice
Organising any collection can be a challenge or a daunting experience, especially with a relatively new collectable. Where do you start? There are no 'How To' books or reference guides, there are no common ways or practices to follow. Managing a small number is east-peasy but as the collection gets bigger it becomes more imperative for it to organised. There is no text book method, collectors tend to use their own instincts and improvise when it comes to organisation.
A simple but an effective way to organise a collection is along visual lines. Grouping images like those standing, sitting, heads, animals etc. Over time, sub categories tend emerge and are created.

Playing cards are an ephemera item and therefor need careful handling. Repeated handling increases the risk of damage and further deterioration. An organised collection will go some way to keep order and preserve your cards. Digitalising a collection by scanning the images can reduce handling and could be useful when there's a need to search for a particular item. Purpose made albums can store around 500 jokers (back to back) and they look awesome when they are grouped together. Clear see through (acid free) plastic pocket pages enable you to display your jokers in their full glory.

Many other shapes and sizes exist to.

Some categories may need further explanation.

These album pages can accommodate a wide range of playing card sizes and come with black inserts which enhance the joker display
